Party coming up:

Fri Nov 21st, 6:30-10:30pm at Miles River Yacht Club.

A hoe down's happening! Complete with Kim Forry, Dance Caller Extraordinaire + Charm City Junction, a 4-piece bluegrass band. Dust off your boots and come celebrate Friendsgiving. MRYC is happy to host Doug Frazee, Elle Carberry, and our guests for our private party. Max capacity is 100. Lite fare. Cash bar. Monetary contributions help fund the Musicians/Artists.

RSVP via the link above or simply replying here.
And, please don't hesitate to invite your friends to join you!!

"Baltimore-based roots group Charm City Junction puts a new spin on old-timey music, carrying the torch of fast-picking bluegrass and toe-tapping Celtic music. Featuring fiddle, clawhammer banjo, the button accordion, and upright bass, this quartet isn’t afraid to take roots music to new places — but always with an eye on tradition." - Washington Post.

Looking forward to dancing and welcoming in the Holidays, together!!

Double-check the Season Standings

Hi All,

It's that time of the year when we need to double-check the season standings:

2025 Season Standings

I'm far from perfect, so check:

  • Your finish
  • Your mark boat night
  • Your total points
I'm ordering trophies soon, so it would be beneficial to order only one set!

Sailing instructions amendment

I noticed an error in the Sailing Instructions. The change from last year's scoring caused a grammar checker to change my change. This is what I expected and what I think you expected:

Three series - one throwout per series.

SI Amendment 1

Hopefully, this is closer. I'll read it closely next year!

Sign up for Mark Boat

Turns out that I'm not good at counting. We have almost three weeks until the first race on May 7th!

It is time to sign up for Mark Boat.

Mark Boat Signup

Remember that everyone should serve as mark boat once during the season. You can do mark boat on anything that floats and has an engine. That includes the racing boat I see you race every Wednesday. If you can put the boat in gear, you can do mark boat!

If you don't sign up, I'll assign you a spot on May 1st.

Sailing Instructions 2025

The Sailing Instructions are ready for you to read and print.

Make sure you read through and understand the basics. Maybe keep a copy on your boat if you need to look up something. I know people often ask us where is the "Y" mark?  It's good to know all the marks.

Also, it's time to register.

We're happy to have anyone come out to sail for three weeks without paying, but you do need to register after that. Remember that if you want to compete for trophies, Star boats need to pay their class dues, and handicap boats need an EZ certification.

You can get EZ certs here.

Only two weeks to go!

Apr 9, 2025

EZ certs for Handicap boats

Are you racing in a handicap boat? It's time to get your 2025 EZ Certificate.

If you have a certificate from 2024, we can use that. If your certificate is older or you don't have one, please get one now. You'll need one to be in the running for trophies!

2025 Notice of Race

 Hi All,

Racing is 4 weeks out! Here is the Notice of Race for 2025.

2025 Notice of Race

What's new?

  • Handicap boats will use EZ ratings by the Offshore Racing Association
  • Time on time ratings to help with a specific issue
  • Moving the Round the Island race to September
You can register here:

We will have a competitor's meeting on Wednesday, April 16th, at 6 pm in the Commodore's Room at MRYC. You don't need to attend, but you're welcome to attend.

See you soon!
