Tide changes and the wind dies. Man, I hate it when that happens! At least the predicted storms held off until 9 pm.

We actually chose the course last night knowing that the wind might die out and that we may need to shorten, so there were lots of marks for the PHRF boats.  As high tide approached, we watched boats round their first leeward mark and then nothing. Rarely does the wind drop out so fast! Thanks to everyone for sticking it out and trying to finish.

Congratulations to Bob Foley and crew on La Quatrieme for a first-place finish last night! Also having a great night was John Shannahan and crew in the Stars as well as Jeff Pevey and crew on Ful Dek, both groups coming in first.

Remember that next week is the best-dressed contest! (and the last race of the year). See you out there.

Need more Mark Boat signups!

Ack!

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a48a4aa2caafc1-20181

We need people to sign up for mark boar for the last 5 weeks of the season. If you haven't done mark boat yet, you need to sign up! Who should we pick on?

Ful Dek - Sure, you're winning. How about doing mark boat for an evening?
Maddie - You could put on a shirt and do mark boat.
Wish - You usually do mark boat once a year.
Ella - Just think - you could do mark boat and give bad advice there for an evening.

It's great fun on the Race Committee:

  • You see all the wind shifts first
  • You get to comment on every blown cover and mark rounding
  • Spinnaker sets are easy on RC
  • You can bring snacks
  • and it's easier to put the boat away!
Remember - you like marks. Sometimes you have to put them out.
