Yay! Finally, we're sailing again.
The water was pretty cold out there last night, so it was good that the wind was light. Gotta keep that spray down. I know everyone on the committee boat was pretty cold by the time we got back into the dock.
Still, we got in a race that was 4.8 nm with lots of legs and no storms as were predicted. It was great to see healthy sized classes for the first night with 8 in the Stars and 10 in PHRF. We even saw two new boats! I'm hoping the numbers will grow as the season moves on.
Congratulations to Will and Carl on Wish for a first-place finish in the Stars. Somehow they rounded the first leeward near the back and managed to climb through. Also having a great night coming in first was Jeff Staley and crew on Ostinato and the crew on Ful Dek.
Great job, everyone, for making it out the first night!
