MOB drill?

Did you do your Man Overboard Drill yet?  Only two weeks to get it done.

Once you do your drill, send me an email and I will score you as completing the MOB.

Here is a great video on how to do a proper man overboard drill from SailVision. (thanks SailVision) I'm not sure they're around anymore, but the video is still a good demonstration. For example, don't put a person in the water to drill - why not use a jug?

Why do a drill? Well, your job as a skipper is to show your crew that sailing is:

• Fun - check
• Rewarding - check
• Safe - ...

What??! You didn't show your crew how to be safe yet? That's no good. Show your crew what to do is someone falls overboard. It happened to at least one boat this summer, so it could happen to you next.

As a bonus, I'll erase those extra points you have because your drill is not done yet. That could be a lot of points!
